The project, promoted by the G. Bartalena Consorzio Interuniversitario per le Ricerche Foniatriche (G. Bartalena Interuniversity Consortium for Phoniatric Research), and by the prestigious high school, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, both located in Pisa, aims at designing and creating an “Artificial Larynx” that, if implemented, could mean extraordinary progress in the treatment of serious diseases. The Fondazione Terzo Pilastro is fully committed in supporting the effort of the research group led by Professor Paludetti. Technically, the objective is to develop a “Biorobotic vocal folds simulator for the reproduction and analysis of electroglottographic signals in pathophysiological conditions”. This project, which is the first of its kind, worldwide, is headed by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and is being implemented in several universities that are part of the G.
