Visionarea Art Space inaugurates 2023 with Physis and Rendering, a solo exhibition by Vincenzo Marsiglia, curated by Davide Silvioli with the collaboration of Davide Sarchioni, presented from February 1st to March 25th, 2023.
Vincenzo Marsiglia is an artist with a profound interdisciplinary attitude. His art work has appeared at the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Dino Zoli Foundation in Forlì, the Casa del Mantegna in Mantua, the Palazzo Collicola Museum in Spoleto, and the Museo del Presente in Rende. For this exhibition, the artists presents a pathway between holographic NFTs and digital photographs, augmented reality and hololens glasses, for an up-close encounter with the new frontiers of Contemporary Art, between the digital world and reality.
The works on display range from relevant results of the “Fold”, “Modus”, “Star stone”, and “Prospect” series to holographic NFTs and digital photographs taken with the Hololens 2 device: a next-generation, mixed and augmented reality viewer applied for the first time in the field of visual arts by Marsiglia itself.
The Physis and Rendering exhibition is organized with the support of the Fondazione Cultura e Arte, an instrumental institution of the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro. It, therefore, brings together a cycle of works that are distinctive of the research undertaken by the artist during his career, to the point of reconfering a synthetic and paradigmatic version.
“Vincenzo Marsiglia’s peculiarity lies in always finding new solutions to works on augmented reality and innovatively developing the possibility of interacting with real space through technology,” Prof. Emanuele, President of the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro, commented. “The artist’s interest particularly focuses on a physical/digital dialogue that is the medium through which the visionary dimension of those who make art is associated to the concrete and tangible world that surrounds us. Thanks to the Fondanzione, which I am honored to preside over, I had already given space to this new frontier of artistic language in 2021 at the Palazzo Cipolla, hosting the great anthological exhibition by Quayola, one of the greatest exponents of media art, on an international level. Like Quayola, Marsiglia also helps us think about and understand the time in which we live, using the right language to express a vision of the world of the 21st century. The Physis and Rendering exhibition, therefore, qualifies as a tried and true experiential journey, where the power of technology is also this: to bring new experiences to life and create new visions.”
