This study is one of the most complete field research projects ever envisaged, related to the number of immigration-intensive settlements in southern Italy, in which profiles that are most geographically and socially significant, as well as potentially conflicting, are analyzed. The study aims at developing specifications for governance, instructions for administrators and, in general, guidelines for those who intend to work long-term on the conscious and fruitful inclusion of immigrants from emerging countries. The objective is, therefore, to propose concrete solutions in terms of policies for the integration of immigrants into southern Italian society and provide unconventional interpretations of the immigration phenomenon and the potential for increasing the GDP, especially in the field of agriculture.
